Guide
Product investment is allocation, not backlog hygiene.
Roadmaps describe work. Investment decisions describe whether the work still deserves money, people and attention.
Start from the question: are we still allocated to the right products? The possible moves are not “add a feature.” They are create, invest, enhance, reposition, sustain, reduce, consolidate, modernize, retire, or do nothing.
Bring economics, customer evidence, market change and capacity into the same comparison. If capacity cannot execute the preferred move, the preferred move is not available.
Record the prediction. Follow the work. Compare expected and actual. Without that last step, product investment is only a planning ritual.
